What's New in Version 7.30

  1. Added two new versions of Demon, called "Superior Canfield" which is easier than Demon in that all the cards are dealt face up to the demon and empty spaces in the tableau are not automatically filled from the Demon.
  2. Fixed a bug in Demon where sometimes you could place an Ace on the foundations even though the base card first dealt was different.
  3. Back by popular demand: "Card Rotations" in Settings. It was originally added decades ago when computers were too slow to rotate card images and felt redundant so was recently removed. Apparently some people prefer dragging a straight column of cards around the screen rather than the trailing, rotating card effect so this option is now back.
  4. Added "Dragging Height" in Settings where you can adjust how high off the play area, cards appear when dragging them around the screen. The cards used to slide upwards when dragging so your finger doesn't obscure them. Some people don't like that so now you have the option to change how far the cards move upwards when being dragged.

Version 7.25  (31st August 2023)

  1. The 7.24 update would crash after creating a new background or card back using the camera or from the photo album.
  2. Removed "Card Rotations" and "Card Shadows" from the Settings screen that appears when you press the cog wheel during game play.

Version 7.24  (26th August 2023)

  1. New backgrounds - Aged Wood, Kittens, Puppies and Dolphins.
Bug Fixes
  1. Game Center stopped working when updating iOS because a "What's New in Game Center" screen would briefly appear and then disappear behind the user interface preventing the "Continue" button from being pressed.
  2. On iOS 16, if you paused the game and changed your device orientation then the screen would mess up.
  3. If you replayed a game with scoring turned off and then won the game and then chose to play another game, the same cards would be dealt again.
  4. Some of the help message boxes were lingering around during Training.

Version 7.23  (12th June 2022)

  1. Tapping on Reset Statistics would freeze the game on newer devices running iOS 15.
  2. Selecting “Use Another App” from the “Tell Your Friends” screen would freeze the game on newer devices running iOS 15.
  3. Sometimes the buttons at the top of the screen would become unresponsive after the Game Over message displayed.

Version 7.22  (13th July 2021)

  1. Now works on macOS Silicon devices.
  2. The font size has been increased.
  3. You can now adjust or mute the sound effects volume when you pause the game.
  4. The volume slider on the Settings screen now becomes grayed out when sound effects are turned off to avoid confusion when the sound stops working.
Bug Fixes
  1. If you turned off Game Center in Settings then other random text in Settings would be grayed out.
  2. The Demon card layout has been moved further down the screen so that when you touch a foundation to reveal the base card, it doesn’t get covered by the buttons at the top of the screen anymore.

Version 7.21  (12th May 2021)

  1. If you don’t like the new Daily and Weekly leaderboards that reset at midnight then you can go back to the old 24 hour and 7 day sliding window leaderboards from Settings, “Game Center” section, “Daily / Weekly Leaderboards”.
  2. The App Version number can now be found on the Settings screen.
Bug Fixes
  1. Poker Squares, iPad, landscape - the scores were off the left side of the screen.
  2. Poker Squares Rule 3 - the reserve pile wasn’t positioned in the correct location.
  3. The card layouts were too high up the screen on iOS 10 devices.

Version 7.20  (6th May 2021)

  1. The game has been updated to display full screen on iPhone X and other notched iPhones.
  2. Now displays in native resolution on all devices with the most noticable improvement being on Plus size devices and iPhone X and other notched iPhones as they used to be upscaled.
  3. On iOS 14, Daily leaderboards now reset at midnight every day and Weekly leaderboards reset at midnight each Sunday. Solitaire City leaderboards always used to work this way which gave everyone a chance to see their name in lights whenever the leaderboards reset, even if it were only for a few minutes. When Solitaire City switched to Game Center years ago, Apple's leaderboards never reset and the Daily leaderboards merely showed the best scores over the last 24 hours and Weekly over the last 7 days. This didn't solve the problem of the leaderboards filling up with insanely high scores that only a few people could beat. With iOS 14, Apple has FINALLY fixed this problem with their ""Recurring Leaderboards".
  4. Also added Yesterday's Best and Last Week's Best leaderboards for each game rule on iOS 14.
  5. The Scoring On/Off button has been moved to the Settings screen.
  6. Various buttons have been added to the status bar such as Settings, Share and Game Center Dashboard.

Version 7.13  (2nd October 2019)

  1. Now works on iOS 13 (fixed Landscape Lock chaos).
  2. Dark Mode support on iOS 13.
  3. Added an “Add Friends” button to the Game Center leaderboards.
  4. You can now send a download link to friends via WhatsApp and Other Apps as well as Messages and Mail (Tell Your Friends).
Bug Fixes
  1. The screen would mess up and prevent you from playing on iOS 13 if you had Landscape Lock turned on.
  2. Fixed a bug in the Demon rules that prevented you moving a single card from the end of a tableau column to a single tableau card on an empty column.

Version 7.12  (20th November 2017)

  1. Added new country flags - Albania, Algeria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bermuda, Bolivia, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, Kosovo, Laos, Macau, Mali, Mongolia, Senegal, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Yemen.
  2. Removed old country flags - Yugoslavia, USSR and North Korea (at Trump's request).
Bug Fixes
  1. Sometimes, on iOS 11, there would be a long pause after pressing the Play button and eventually the game screen would appear.
  2. Fixed up a lot of visual problems with various screen layouts on iPhone X.

Version 7.11  (6th November 2017)

  1. The game would crash quite regularly after the 7.10 update.
  2. The Scoring Off button wouldn't remember it's setting.
  3. Total of All Games Played got reset to zero in 7.10 (this will be recovered).

Version 7.10  (4th November 2017)

  1. The Play button would sometimes stop working.

Version 7.02  (21st April 2017)

  1. If you had Game Center turned off then it would turn back on each time you restarted the App.

Version 7.01  (19th April 2017)

  1. You can now lock the Training button and the Scoring On/Off button from the User Interface section of the Settings screen to prevent fat fingers accidentally pressing them.
Bug Fixes
  1. Some data in the previous version caused the App Store to incorrectly state that the App contains English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish language support when in fact it only contains English.
  2. If you played Spider or Poker Squares in landscape orientation then the empty card stacks overlapped each other. Now they look much better.
  3. In Cribbage Squares, a Flush was only scored when all five cards were the same suit for 5 points whereas the correct rules should score 4 points if the four cards excluding the Starter are the same suit. This has been corrected.

Version 7.00  (11th October 2016)

  1. A new game; Accordion!
Bug Fixes
  1. Blind Alleys was only letting you move a full column to an empty space when it should have allowed you to break up a column and move it to an empty space.

Version 6.00  (13th September 2016)

  1. A new game; Blind Alleys with 2 rule variations!
  2. Added a way for you to reset your stats from the Statistics section at the bottom of the Settings Screen.
Bug Fixes
  1. Since the last update, sometimes Spider and Spiderette Rule 3 would suggest dumb moves at the end of a game.

Version 5.10  (28th July 2016)

  1. If you've been playing the free version of Solitaire City then your scores, statistics, custom backgrounds and card backs will now all be transferred automatically to this Ad-Free version so you won't lose any valuable data (iOS 8 and newer). If your scores aren't showing up yet then please upgrade your free version of Solitaire City to 5.10 and open the app with the blue icon once to transfer the scores and data over to this Ad-Free version.
  2. If you play with the scoring/timer turned off then you'll now be asked whether you want to play another game after a win rather than being taken back to the hi-scores screen which never made much sense if you're not playing for points.
Bug Fixes
  1. Sometimes Scorpion Rule 3 would think the game was blocked when valid moves were still available.
  2. If you changed your device orientation while playing Spider, Baker's Dozen or Double Klondike then the translucency in the center of the empty spaces disappeared.
  3. On an iPhone, if you tried to select an image for a custom background from your Photo Album while in landscape orientation, the display would flip back to portrait making it impossible to select a landscape image.

Version 5.01  (6th April 2016)

  1. If you won a game of Tri-Peaks then the bonus for the remaining cards wasn't added to your score.
  2. Cribbage Squares scores weren't being remembered.
  3. If you won a game when scoring was turned off then it would still ask you to enter your name for the hi-score tables.
  4. The card layout was messed up in Baker's Dozen when the left handed option was turned on.

Version 5.00  (28th March 2016)

  1. New Games! Baker's Dozen and Scorpion One, Two and Four Suits.
  2. Added winning and losing streaks statistics for each game and rule number (at the bottom of each hi-score table).
  3. Added a link to the Game Center Achievements on the game selection screen.
  4. There's now a Frequently Asked Questions page accessible from the Settings screen.
  5. Added a way to tell friends about the game via e-mail or text messsage from the Settings screen.
Bug Fixes
  1. The game was a mess on iPhone 6 Plus devices running iOS 9. The game was accidentally using non-retina card graphics and backgrounds making them look blurry and the cards were covered by the shortcut bar. This has been fixed.
  2. If you tapped on a card to select it and then flipped the phone's orientation then the card would end up in the wrong position.

Version 4.32  (26th January 2016)

  1. When you won a game, sometimes the buttons in the message box would be offset to the left.
  2. The 4 of Hearts on the new iPad "Solitaire City Clean Large" cardset had an extra heart on it like a 5.
  3. Improved the card spacing on iPads when using cardsets with large numbers.

Version 4.31  (15th January 2016)

  1. The Facebook icons will now only appear if you have the Facebook App installed on your device.
  2. Improved the appearance of card animations while dragging a long stack around the screen.
  3. Added a new cardset for iPads called "Solitaire City Clean Large". It's the same as the default iPhone "Solitaire City Clean" cardset but the numbers are huge on iPads. Good for people with really bad eyesight.
Bug Fixes
  1. If you launched the App in landscape mode on an iPhone 6 plus running iOS 9 then the result wasn't pretty.
  2. Sometimes, while frantically tapping on cards to finish the game in FreeCell or tapping on the auto-finish flag, a card would end up on the wrong stack blocking the game.
  3. The name you entered for the hi-scores would sometimes pickup extra characters at the end.
btw, there were no adverts in v4.30 as some iTunes comments claim. A news screen displayed about our new game Silly Saucers and it only displayed once.

Version 4.30  (17th December 2015)

  1. Added the option to Tap on cards to move them as an alternative to dragging. Tap on a card to highlight it grey and then tap on where you want to move it to. You can turn Tapping off from the Settings screen.
  2. You can now change to a different solitaire game or a different game rule from the in game settings screen.
  3. Four new backgrounds - Blue Condensation, Golden Marble, Green Grass and Red Hot.
  4. Empty spaces are more visible on certain backgrounds.
  5. Higher resolution backgrounds on retina phones.
  6. Added the option to Share your wins on Facebook. Please Like and Share Solitaire City!
  7. Faster 64-bit code and iOS 9 compatible.
Bug Fixes
  1. The loading screen was rotated in the wrong direction when launching the game in landscape on iPads running iOS 8.3 and higher
  2. There were problems moving cards on iPads and iPhone 6 Plus when this happened.

Version 4.22  (16th December 2014)

  1. Moved the in-game Settings icon from the right hand side of the toolbar to the left because some people have said that they accidentally press it when they mean to press the Show Move button.
Bug Fixes
  1. If Game Center was disabled in the Settings, then Show Achievements was greyed out but so was Sound Theme.
  2. On the Sound Themes page, you could tap on the message about creating a Custom Sound Theme and it would display a check mark next to it as though you had selected it as a Theme.
  3. If you chose a different card set while playing Spider or Double Klondike on a retina iPad then it would forget which card set you'd selected when you re-opened the App.
  4. Sometimes the in-game buttons at the top of the screen would be pushed down the screen too far after the green in-call status bar had appeared.
  5. If you won a game of FreeCell Rule 1 to get the "First FreeCell" achievement then you would be awarded the "FreeCell Freak" achievement too.
  6. It wasn't possible to unlock the Klondike Champ achievement.

Version 4.21  (15th November 2014)

  1. There was a large gap between the new in-game Settings button and Show Move button in Left Handed mode.
  2. Using a right swipe gesture to close the new in-game Settings screen could get messy. This swipe has now been disabled.
  3. When you switched from Right handed to Left handed from the in-game Settings, the game buttons on the status bar didn't flip their positions.

Version 4.20  (10th November 2014)

  1. Added a Settings screen that you can access during a game so you can switch card sets, backgrounds etc during play.
  2. Added Game Center achievements (access them from the Settings screen).
  3. The in game Landscape Lock is back in the Settings screen on iOS 8 devices because Apple's Control Center only allows landscape locking on iPads.
  4. The status bar showing the time and battery power is now displayed on iPads. This can be turned on or off from the Settings screen.
  5. Added new country flags - Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Iceland, Dominican Republic, Kenya, Oman and Honduras.
  6. The sound would sometimes cut out after a phone call.

Version 4.11  (17th September 2014)

  1. Removed the game's Landscape / Portrait Lock feature for iOS 8 users as Apple has their own orientation lock in iOS now. Please swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal Apple's Control Center panel and lock the orientation from there.
Bug Fixes
  1. The game now works on iOS 8.
  2. If you take a photo on an iPad to create a custom background or card back then the camera is now full screen instead of in a window. This helps with taking landscape background images.

Version 4.10  (1st April 2014)

  1. Added 5 new card sets for iPhones and iPod touch.
  2. You can now choose a different card back and change its colour from the Settings screen or use a photo as a card back.
  3. Made the touch area on the button bars larger so starting a New game etc is easier.
  4. In Three Shuffles and a Draw, you can now draw after any shuffle, not just the final one.
Bug Fixes
  1. The number of games won in Klondike Rules 1 to 6 might have gone crazy if you updated to 4.01 from an older version.
  2. If you changed card sets when the selected game was Double Klondike or Spider then it would forget which card set you'd chosen next time you started the App.

Version 4.01  (23rd February 2014)

  1. I've replaced the white dialog boxes that appeared in iOS 7 to ones that match the game better.
  2. Cumulative scoring/cash added to Klondike Vegas Rules and Demon Canfield Rules.
  3. Removed Undos from Klondike Vegas Rules. You wouldn't be allowed to take back a move at the casinos!
  4. You can turn Game Center off from the Settings screen. This will prevent the login screen appearing for those who just can't stand using Game Center.
  5. Now displays your Game Center nickname instead of "Me" on the leaderboards.
  6. If you're not in the top 50 scores on a Game Center leaderboard then scroll down to the bottom and you'll now see the 10 scores surrounding your current position.
  7. Increased the spacing between cards on many iPad games so you can see the suits better.
  8. Added an index to the country flag selection table when entering your name for a hi-score.
  9. Added What's New and Quick Start guides to the Settings screen.
Bug Fixes
  1. The game would sometimes reset your stats and settings after a crash.
  2. After the v4.00 update, the Klondike Local hi-score tables became mixed up. This update will try to sort things out and recover your missing scores.
  3. Spider and Spiderette Rules 2 and 3 would say the game was over when there were empty columns that could be filled.
  4. If you scrolled down the Game Center leaderboards to the bottom, sometimes the app would crash.
  5. Resetting the Poker Squares local leaderboard to zeros didn't work properly.
  6. Sometimes the Game Center leaderboards would say that you're in the Top 0% instead of the Top 1%
  7. If you tried to replay a game when the scoring was turned off then sometimes you'd be dealt a different hand.
  8. Creating custom backgrounds is more stable now in iOS 7 and iPhone 5.

Version 4.00  (25th Sept 2013)

I have removed the old global hi-score tables that were hosted on my own servers and replaced them with Apple's Game Center leaderboards. It was becoming too expensive to pay for the bandwidth and Game Center is free and more reliable. It also lets you see your friend's scores in their own mini-leaderboards. Unfortunately, Game Center doesn't rollover the Daily and Weekly leaderboards at midnight and instead, the Daily leaderboard contains the scores over the last 24 hours and Weekly contains scores over the last 7 days. If you're not familiar with Game Center and you haven't yet created an account then all you have to do is open Apple's Game Center App on your device and create one for free. Most people just use their existing iTunes login and password and choose a nickname that isn't already in use, and then when you play Solitaire City, it will login to Game Center automatically.

Klondike Rules 7 to 12 have been moved down to Rules 1 to 6 to match the free version. These rules let you move sections of a column rather than just the lowest card.

Version 3.14  (18th April 2013)

  1. Removed the Replay Game dialog box when you press the New Game button.
  2. Added a Replay Game button to the menu bar on iPad and iPhones in landscape. To replay a game on iPhones in portrait, press the Pause button then the Replay Game button.
  3. The Replay Game button in the Pause box is now only displayed on iPhones in landscape orientation.
  4. Removed all references to UDIDs.
Bug Fixes
  1. When playing Pyramid on an iPhone 5 or iPod touch 4" screen, the cards were overlapped by the button bar at the top.
  2. If you pressed the New Game button while the cards were dealt then another deal would start once the cards had finished dealing.
  3. If you pressed the End Game button when Confirm New/End was turned on then the game would freeze after the confirmation dialog box was dismissed.

Version 3.13  (3rd April 2013)

  1. You can now replay the same game.
  2. A dialog box appears letting you know what's going on when you press the Scoring On/Off button.

Version 3.12  (11th Jan 2013)

  2. iOS 6 and iPhone 5 widescreen support!
  3. Improved card graphics on non-retina devices.
  4. Replaced the "No Scoring" button with "Scoring On/Off"
  5. Prevented the shuffle on the Fan Games from dealing the same exposed cards again.
  6. Clicking on the chequered flag to auto finish a game doesn't inflict as big a time penalty as it used to.
Bug Fixes
  1. When editing a custom sound theme on Retina displays, the text labels were way off to the right.
  2. Sometimes, with Landscape Lock turned on, the Notification Center pulldown would appear from the side of the screen instead of the top and could interfere with game play.
  3. End game firework particles didn't travel far enough on retina devices.

Version 3.03  (27th Sept 2011)

  1. The game rules and scoring information pages were blank.
  2. Yukon Rule 1 had started suggesting the same moves repeatedly and would never say the game was over.

Version 3.02  (16th Sept 2011)

  1. Added the option to turn the auto finish chequered flag on or off from the Settings screen.
Bug Fixes
  1. Sometimes a vertical slice of card would be left on screen when you moved some cards.
  2. Kings packed on Queens of the same suit couldn't be placed on an empty space in Yukon Rule 2.

  2. Fixed a bug from the 3.00 update which positioned the foundations wrong in Spiderette on iPad.

  2. Creating new backgrounds from your photo album works now on iPad.
  3. Your custom background preview thumbnails will return if you updated and they disappeared.

Version 2.00  (1st April 2010)

  1. iPad/iPhone Universal Application works on both iPad and iPhone.
  2. iPad Enhanced with larger, more detailed card graphics and backgrounds.
  3. Lots of new, large card sets added to iPad version.
  4. Improved the game/rule selection screen.
  5. Date score was achieved is displayed on hi-score tables on iPad and iPhone landscape.
  6. New Blue Light background.
  7. Added information about the rules for each game.
Bug Fixes
  1. Klondike and Spiderette would sometimes say the game is over when valid moves were still available.
  2. Occasionally the OK button wouldn't respond when typing your name for a hi-score.

Version 1.42  (17th July 2009)

  1. The game wouldn't start sometimes on the new iPhone 3GS. This happened most when Landscape Lock was turned on.

Version 1.41  (3rd July 2009)

  1. The status bar showing the battery and time now appears when you pause the game.
Bug Fixes
  1. Sometimes the game would crash when you pressed the Rules button.
  2. Improved the App's stability in low memory situations.
  3. If you created a custom background, the thumbnail image would be wrong when you selected a different background.
  4. Fixed some problems when taking a background photo in landscape mode.

Version 1.40  (22nd May 2009)

  1. You can now select from one of three sound themes from the setup screen.
  2. Modify the sound themes or create new ones (change individual sounds you find annoying).
  3. Overhauled the game selection screen so it's easier to change games/rules and then view the hi-scores without starting a new game.
  4. Added preview thumbnails to the background selection screen.
  5. You can create backgrounds with the iPhone's camera as well as from your Photo Album and you can rotate the photos 90 degrees.
  6. Added Bulgaria and Bosnia & Herzegovina country flags.
  7. Number of cards remaining is now displayed on the "Jewels" stack in Casket.
Bug Fixes
  1. Re-wrote the image placement screen that lets you place and size backgrounds from your photo album so it works properly in all screen orientations.
  2. If you dealt a new row of cards in Spiderette and then Undo, the first card dealt wouldn't return to the deck.
  3. Sometimes the sounds would go silent and the only way to fix it was to re-install, losing your hi-scores.
  4. If you rotated the phone while dragging a card then it used to cause problems.

Version 1.30  (8th Nov 2008)

  1. You can now select an image from your photo album to display in the background. You can re-size and position the image on your screen before selecting it. That single image will then be displayed in both portrait and landscape screen orientations. This will cause the image to be stretched in one of the two rotations. No worries though because you can select a separate image for both portrait and landscape. If you selected your image in portrait mode, then simply rotate your iPhone to landscape and touch the photo album image next to your newly created background and then select the same image (or a different one) and re-size and position it for the landscape screen. Then your custom background will switch between the two images when you rotate your device during game play. Please note, that Apple's standard image picker tool doesn't work well in landscape mode right now. The right hand edge is cropped. When positioning an image in landscape orientation you'll just have to do your best to place it correctly until Apple fixes the problem in a future firmware release.
  2. Added many new country flags such as Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia.
  3. Displays a check mark next to the game, rule, cards and background selections instead of highlighting in blue, which used to disappear when you scrolled.
  4. Added an optional confirmation when you press New or End buttons (turn on from Settings screen). Some people had complained that they accidentally ended a game when they didn't mean to.
Bug Fixes
  1. If you hit the Show Move button, Undo or Pause while dragging a card, then the card would dangle in mid-air. Grabbing that dangling card would then crash the game.
  2. Sound effects would disappear if you played the game long enough without exiting the App.
  3. Sometimes the game would hang when you won, which was also related to the sound effects bug.

Version 1.21  (23rd Sept 2008)

  1. If you changed from portrait to landscape in the front end, the navigation bar would either disappear or end up in the wrong position on screen. This started occurring after Apple's 2.1 software update had been installed.
  2. If you continued a save game in left handed mode then the New and End buttons would be on the left instead of the right.

Version 1.20  (6th Sept 2008)

  1. Two new games added - Spiderette and Double Klondike.
  2. Two more rules added to Pyramid allowing three re-deals which makes the game easier.
  3. The card animations are smoother and the particle effects respond quicker when you place a card.
  4. Details of the Scoring system for each game has been added to the Settings screen.
  5. You can now use the Show Move button as often as you like in non-scored games. In scored games it remains disabled for 25 seconds.
  6. Moved the New and End buttons to the right side of the screen when playing in left handed mode so they're not as close to the deck.
  7. Added a setting to lock the orientation to landscape or portrait to prevent accidental rotation during over zealous play sessions.
Bug Fixes
  1. If you paused the game then quit back to the iPhone's home page then re-started the App, the cards would be face down.
  2. Fixed a very obscure crash bug in the firework endings that would only occur when the screech sound played multiple times.
  3. If you won a game during training then you couldn't continue.

Version 1.10  (13th August 2008)

  1. Landscape support. Play in either portrait or landscape mode simply by rotating your iPhone.
  2. Landscape and portrait versions of each background image so they don't have to stretch.
  3. A new card set, "Traditional", based on traditional playing card designs.
  4. Longer card columns automatically adjust their vertical card spacing to prevent them going off the bottom of the screen.
  5. Scores from restored games are now eligible for upload. No more annoying messages.
  6. The hit zone on the face down deck has been reduced to help people with sausage fingers.
  7. Darkened the "Snowy Night" background. It was washing out the cards.
  8. An option on the "Settings" screen that allows you turn off the firework endings when you win a game.
  9. Added a "Well Done, (touch the screen)" message at the top of the fireworks endings screen.
  10. A test sound plays each time the volume slider is moved so you can hear the volume change.
  11. Improved the shadow under cards that are dealt three at a time.
  12. A one time warning about roaming data charges is displayed when the game is started.
Bug Fixes
  1. The end of game fireworks would freeze or crash occasionally.
  2. Eliminator and Pyramid firework endings didn't function properly.
  3. The battery was draining when the game was in sleep mode (display turned off).
  4. If the iPhone's alarm interrupted the game then the sound effects would stop playing and the game would freeze after the next deal.
  5. There was a bug in the Pyramid scoring that caused the bonus to increase each time the waste pile was emptied instead of when the row beneath the pyramid was cleared out. This resulted in scores being much higher than intended and making it possible to max out the score. The only solution was to wipe the Pyramid hi-scores back to zero and start again with the correct scoring system. You must upgrade to v1.10 in order to submit global hi-scores for Pyramid. Only Pyramid scores are affected.
  6. The game times weren't being displayed on the Pyramid hi-score tables.
  7. FreeCell Rule 3 still didn't work if you upgraded from v1.00 to v1.01. A fresh install of v1.01 worked but not an upgrade.
  8. The sound effects volume returned to maximum volume when you quit out of the App and restarted it, even though the slider was set lower.
  9. Last Score would occasionally display a large negative number at the bottom of the hi-score tables.
  10. The Bonus text in the games was drawn too many times causing the shadow to display too dark.
  11. While entering a name for the hi-score table, if you deselected the country by scrolling then it would give you a flag you didn't intend.
  12. The help arrows in training mode were pointing the wrong way in left handed layouts.
  13. The weekly hi-scores didn't roll over correctly at midnight on Sundays until you re-started the App.

Version 1.01  (18th July 2008)

  1. Added a button to the Personal hi-scores screen that allows them to be reset to zeros or the default names and scores.
Bug Fixes
  1. The game would crash at seemingly random points if the hi-scores server wasn't responding. The hi-scores server was being upgraded to cope with traffic shortly after the first release of Solitaire City causing a lot of players to be dumped back to the iPhone's home screen with alarming regularity. Turning Global Hi-Scores to OFF was a temporary fix.
  2. The last deal in the deck would crash sometimes.
  3. FreeCell would crash quite often.
  4. FreeCell Rule 3 didn't work.
  5. FreeCell Rule 7 game numbers didn't deal the cards the same as Microsoft FreeCell.
  6. Klondike Rule 2 didn't work.
  7. Tri-Peaks didn't play a sound when you cleared out a peak.
  8. Personal Best hi-scores would often be lost.
  9. The timer didn't update on Klondike Vegas Rules.

Version 1.00  (10th July 2008)

This was the first release of Solitaire City for iPhone and iPod Touch. On 30th June 2008, I managed to submit a final build of Solitaire City to Apple 10 minutes before their cut-off time for inclusion in the App Store's launch. On 9th July 2008, I received an e-mail from Apple saying that my Solitaire City "application" had been cleared for sale and on 10th July, Apple launched their much anticipated App Store with Solitaire City being one of only 552 Apps available at launch!
